As part of the administrative reorganisation, an imposing district office building was erected on today’s Hetmana Stefana Czarnieckiego Street. The street is lined with varied buildings: grand villas predominate on the eastern side, while townhouses and modern multi-storey buildings line the western side.
The new building housed two district offices – for the urban district of Stargard and for the rural district of Saatzig, whose seat remained in the town.
The monumental neo-Gothic red-brick building stands on a granite plinth. Its grand character is emphasised by a tall gabled roof, pointed-arch details and a richly decorated façade reminiscent of Stargard’s St Mary’s Church. The central section, with the main portal, a stepped gable and an oriel, is particularly richly decorated. Taller wings adjoin the main body on the courtyard side.
The building has retained its administrative function to this day and is now the seat of Stargard Town Hall (Urząd Miejski).
