Smolensk Air Disaster Victims Monument

A Memory That Endures.

The Memorial to the Victims of the Smolensk Air Disaster in Stargard is located in the Memorial Square for the Victims of the Smolensk Air Disaster in Bolesław Chrobry Park, on Prezydentów RP Lecha Kaczyńskiego and Ryszarda Kaczorowskiego Street.

The memorial, unveiled on 18 January 2014, takes the form of a three-part obelisk made of polished black granite set on a concrete pedestal. The plaques bear the Emblem of the Republic of Poland, the national colours, and the names of all 96 victims of the tragedy of 10 April 2010. The composition is complemented by two memorial oaks planted beside the memorial and a paved square. The site serves as a place of national remembrance, where the local authorities and residents of Stargard organise official anniversary ceremonies every year.
